CIT-Computerunterstützte Interpretation von Texten
By Prof. Dr Alfred Suhl, Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität,
Münster: excellent, well-designed introductory materials on Mark, the Synoptic Gospels and Pauline Chronology, strongly recommended. In order to read the materials you will need (a) to know German, (b) to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed (free download from the site) for the Gospel materials, (c) to have the Powerpoint Animation Player installed (free download from the site) for the Paul materials. The individual components at the moment are:
Einführung in das
Markus-Evangelium
Introductory materials on Mark, specially focused on the analysis of Mark 1.21-28.
Übersichten zu den synoptischen Evangelien
Coloured outlines to each of the Synoptic Gospels, featuring source-critical breakdown of Matthew and Luke from the perspective of the Two-Source Theory.
Grundkurs "Basiswissen zur Chronologie des Apostels Paulus"
Wonderful, animated powerpoint introduction to the study of Pauline chronology.
The New Testament and Its Context
By Prof. Barry D. Smith of Atlantic Baptist University, Canada: a remarkable connection of introductory materials on the whole of the New Testament. The materials are divided into two sets, "Introducing the New Testament: A Workbook" and "Lecture Topics". A very useful site, especially for students coming to the New Testament for the first time.
The Coptic Gospel of Thomas, Saying by Saying
By Michael Grondin: Grondin's on-line version of Coptic Thomas, featuring interlinear translation, lexicon and notes, has for some time now been one of the most useful internet resources for scholars of Christian origins. In his latest version of the site, Grondin has incorporated hyperlinks to Sytze van der Laan's (also excellent) site on the Oxyrhynchus fragments of Thomas. This means that the scholar can now view simultaneously, on the same screen, Greek and Coptic Thomas (plus English translation): simply choose "Split Screen" and then select which portions you would like to view. A real service to scholarship.
Jewish Coins
Although a commercial site, these pages are most useful to the Biblical scholar: they feature large, clear, colour reproductions of many early Jewish and Jewish-related coins.
